Introduction to Japan: first impressions

My name is Alessia and I am from Italy especially from the university of Turin. I came to Japan because my university offered us the possibility to come here and improve our language speaking and reading skills. My first impression of Japan is not much different from what I expected, people here are not expensive or direct like in my home country but I prefer how they are more respectful about other people's boundaries.

One thing that surprised me a lot is how cities are structured: when I went to Dotombori I was surprised to find a Buddhist temple in such a chaotic area. In those six months I want to improve my Japanese language skills ,then I plan do research about my thesis about Japanese literature: I really like the idea about doing research in Osaka and in the campus library. I am still not sure about what I will do after graduation. My initial idea was to work in the tourism field but after following classes in Italy with our literature teacher I became interested in translation so I hope this semester will help me to understand more about my future career.
